Gone are the days of using chalk and black boards. Interactive media boards are here to stay. In my school district we serve nearly over 7,000 students and our focus is to reach them through the use of technology. When we created our technology plan, the major part was to train teachers to use the technology as a teaching tool. These tools included digital white boards and a laptop for every teacher to upload and managed their student progress reports. We created a technology plan, which will enable students to compete in our ever-expanding technological world.

Our tech plan is also implemented through the use of RSS feeds. Teachers and staff are able to easily access the latest developments in technology, education, and state news. It also allows them to connect and network with others in the field of education.

I like to make the learning process interesting and exciting for students therefore I use Adobe photoshop. I feel this method is the most effective way to engage and enhance their learning. Visual imagery can be a great way to capture the students’ attention. Peg A Web Design and Photoshop Tutorials is a free website that provides step-by-step instruction for beginners with web shots included.

Education Week

Education Week is my second RSS feed and it provides useful information on the latest in legislative news. They actually started out as a bi-weekly newspaper and eventually expanded to the internet. The site also has a page set up with over 30 different RSS feeds from testing and accountability to curriculum and E-Learning.

Apple has an enormous amount of RSS feeds to chose from. I chose RSS feeds that relate to my area of interests: Final Cut Studio, Math and Science, Video, Weather, and Social Networking.

pbsKids Whiteboard Games

I mentioned earlier how chalk boards and to some degree white boards with dry erase are a thing of the past. Interactive learning technology is a key element of our technology plan. Every classroom in my district has an interactive board or smart board. Actually interactive-smart boards have been around for a long time. In the last five years, however, schools across the country started using these smart boards. PBS has some fun interactive white board games that teachers can use to track their students' progress.

School Library Monthly

I just started exploring website with information in the field of library science. This site is particularly helpful to me because it relates to the field I plan on pursuing which is school library media.
